August 2018 Partner Letter

Dear Partner,

“…God’s word is full of life and power, and is keener than the sharpest two-edged sword. It pierces even to the severance of soul from spirit, and penetrates between the joints and the marrow, and it can discern the secret thoughts and purposes of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12 Moffatt)

God’s word is alive and is able to penetrate even the most hardened and darkened hearts with convicting, life-giving power!

Manasseh was the wickedest king to rule over Judah. For 55 years, he led Judah into witchcraft, sorcery, and the worship of false gods and idols, including the fertility goddess Asherah. He even sacrificed his own son in the fires of idolatry.

Not many years later Josiah, Manasseh’s grandson, became king at age 8. Ten years after becoming king, Josiah asked his high priest, Hilkiah, to collect funds to repair the temple that was in disrepair. As they worked, they uncovered the book of the law (the first five books of the Bible). Apparently it had been lost and neglected for a number of years. When Josiah heard the books read aloud by a scribe, he tore his clothes and said, “Great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us” (2 Kings 22:13).  When the Word of God was then read aloud to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, God’s word pierced their hearts and brought revival and great restoration to a whole nation!

The Word of God is mighty – God-breathed!  It is able to penetrate even the most hardened and darkened heart with convicting, life-giving power.  This is the sure – and only – cure for a world that is without hope and without God.  And it is why we must continue to proclaim the Good News that Jesus saves, Jesus heals, and Jesus is coming soon!  For what God has done before is a witness to what He will do again …”Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever!

Thank you so very much for your prayers and financial support as we continue to live the “Go” that Jesus commanded. ”  We are so grateful for you, dear partner!

Because He first loved us,

Cindy, Lois and Ray
