October 2019 Partner Letter

Dear Partner,

The Lord is my Shepherd; I have all that I need.

He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.

He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

I recently heard a story about someone going to Winnipeg, Canada – a place called the ‘frozen land’.  They said that even though it was about 10 below, people were out everywhere: skating, ice fishing, walking, and even having festivals. When he was asked how the people of Winnipeg handled such bad weather. He said,  “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.”

In other words, being properly dressed may not change the weather, but it can sure change how you are affected by it!   Because, as they said, “there’s no bad weather, but there is bad clothing”.

The devil tries to destroy your life by getting you to focus on the hard places – the bad weather – and if you do that too long, it will take all your energy and strength.

Hard places come in everyone’s life.  Everyone has “stormy weather “at some point; disappointments, difficulties or mistakes.  But if we learn to “dress appropriately” for the weather – we will be able to continue through the hard places life.

Psalms 23 is “appropriate dress” for the “bad weather” of life.  It is one of those places in the Bible that will speak to every season of your life.  It will help you to focus on God’s promise instead of the problems that come to us all.  Remember this as you continue in all that God has called you to do in life.  We love you!!

To God Be The Glory!
