“What is impossible with men is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
On August 11, 1927, Smith Wigglesworth preached on the preparation for the second coming of the Lord. He challenged the hearers with a word that is still speaking today. As we see the ‘signs of the times’, it would be good for us to consider his message …
“I am conscious today that God has a design for us greater than our thoughts …or our language. And so, I am not frightened of …spiritual exaggeration, shall I say. I dare believe that God will help me say things to you that shall inspire you to dare to believe God.
Up to this present time the Lord’s word is for us, “Hitherto ye have asked nothing.” Surely you people that have been asking great things from God for a long time would be amazed if you entered into it with clear knowledge that it is the Master – it is Jesus – who has such knowledge of the mightiness of the power of the Father, of the joint union with Him, that nothing is impossible for you to ask. Surely it is He only who could say “Hitherto you have asked nothing.”So God means me to press you another step forward. Begin to believe on extravagant asking; believe that God is pleased when you ask large things.”
Glory! When the things in the world become more and more unstable, we have a “sure word from God” that is unshakeable and unchangeable; “…With God, all things are possible.” The Message Bible says it like this:
Jesus said, “(You have) no chance at all if you think you can pull it off by yourself. (But you have) Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”
With all of our heart, we thank you for joining your hearts and your hands together with us. It is our day to believe God and do some extravagant asking (!) – let’s trust Him together for some BIG things!
