November 2019 Partner Letter

Dear Partner,

…’By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.’ (Heb. 11:8)

I recently heard a general of our U.S. forces tell the story of going to visit our troops in a combat zone. He told how they were going through a certain area and the captain told him to be very careful to follow the soldier in front of him, as the enemy had laid many mines in the area they would be going. He was told to “only step where the soldier in front of him stepped” as that would be the path that would safely take them to their destination.
Have you ever heard the motivational statement, “if you don’t know where you are going, how are you going to know when you get there”? It’s usually made in reference to reaching your destination in life and the importance of planning and preparing for it.

Although there is a truth to be considered in planning and preparing for the future, there is a faith principle that is also true. When you live by faith in obedience to God – just like Abraham – you may not always know every detail. But if you will take the Word of God to define and direct your path in the daily decisions and direction of your life, you will find yourself following the one who knows what you don’t know, has been where you haven’t been and has defeated the enemy in every situation you will encounter.  You will be… “stepping where Jesus has already stepped”, the …”author and the finisher of your life of faith”!! (Heb. 12:2)

Remember to be …’be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” It’s your time, it’s your day to obey!!

How we love you, dear partner. Jesus is coming soon!!
Forever grateful,Cindy, Lois and Ray
