August 2019 Partner Letter

Dear Partner,

“As for us, there’s no question—we can’t keep quiet about what we’ve seen and heard.” (Acts 4:21)

Winston Churchill resisted one of the greatest attacks of evil the world has ever known.  His words to the English people during the dark summer of 1940 still stir the human heart.

“Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known or cared for, will sink in to the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties and so bear ourselves that if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years men will still say, ‘This was their finest hour.'”  Later, biographers would call it his finest hour. And it was.

Martin Niemoller, a pastor in Germany who initially sent a telegram congratulating Hitler on his rise to power lived with regret because of his silence.   When he realized his error, he said this:

“In Germany, they came first for the communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up became I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.”

How we thank you for making it possible to continue telling the world about Jesus!  You will be called forward to receive the reward for any fruit that has come from any of our efforts to help bring others to Christ and strengthen the church in our lifetime.  We are forever grateful that God has joined us together …in the Harvest!  We love you – honor you – and pray for you.

To God Be The Glory,

Cindy, Lois and Ray
